Ensuring that disability is not a barrier to experiencing the joy of sailing

Poole Sailability Group Bookings

Groups Welcome!

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for organised groups for the disabled and those who have impaired health to get on the water with us. There is no charge. Visiting groups come from many areas such as SEND schools, a wide range of organisations supporting those with physical disabilities and cognitive impairment and specific groups such as Young Carers.

If you are the leader of a group which wishes to try out sailing, what you need is set out on this page below -

Testimonies

"I just want to thank you once again for the excellent sailing sessions we have had this year. The pupils have benefitted from these immensely and it has been so wonderful to see their confidence grow each week! I have just included a short list of the many benefits I have seen:

*Knowledge of water safety

*Sailing knowledge and skills

*Confidence to talk with new people

*Being able to hold a conversation with non-school based staff more successfully for longer periods

*Vocabulary development

*Knowledge of the local area

*Pupil attendance in school - a pupil commented that they can better manage a 5 day week knowing that there is sailing on a Friday

*Positive attitude in school as they know sailing is coming up

*Beaming smiles!

Please could you pass our thanks on to all involved, their enthusiasm and patience is what makes these sessions so special - with of course the excellent organisation behind the scenes. We wish you safe sailing for the rest of the year and hopefully we will be able to collaborate once again".

Many thanks, Teacher - Tregonwell School 2025

“Please pass on our thanks to the lovely people who took them

sailing and all of the people from Poole Sailablity. In particular the girls

loved sailing- I did not expect that! Olivia said that the main reason she

loved it was that the instructors and volunteers were so kind and made the experience so lovely” Youth Cancer Trust, August 2024
