Ensuring that disability is not a barrier to experiencing the joy of sailing
Poole Sailability is entirely operated, managed, and organised by volunteers. Regular expense incurred is from boat mooring fees, fuel, equipment, maintenance and repair. We also provide lifejackets and waterproof clothing for sailors, as well as training for our crews. Your donation however small helps keep us running, e.g. £5 covers the petrol for the safety boat during a session or £20 covers all our operating costs of one seat on a session!
Finance to fund these operations come from several sources including: -
• Members voluntary donations
• Volunteers voluntary donations
• Services provided by local companies free of charge in recognition of the public benefits of our work as a “pro-bono” activity.
• Donations from individuals and companies
• Grants from other charities and foundations usually towards larger one-off costs e.g. new sails.
• Gifts in legacies (usually for larger replacement costs e.g. Barbican Safety Boat)
All of our grants, gifts, legacies and sponsors are recognised here
If you are a UK tax payer we can claim 25p extra from the government for every £1 you donate through gift aid! So for a £1000 we get an additional £250.
If you wish to donate please visit the Charities Aid Foundation(CAF) website
CAF is a leading charity, working at the centre of the giving world. We help donors to give more impactfully and charities to build their resilience so they can do more of their life-changing work.
